A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.
Observation. Licensing observed one staff certificate was not posted.
Corrective action. Ensure all staff certificates are posted.
10070 - CCLR s.11(4) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
The licensee must (a) develop the care plan in consultation with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation. A care plan was not developed in consultation with the parent or any person requested by the parent for one child in care.
Corrective action. Ensure a care plan is created in consultation with the parents.

A Licensee must keep (b) a current record of each person to whom the written agreement is delivered in accordance with that section [CCALA s.19]
Observation. A selection of children's files were reviewed. Out of the 6 reviewed, all 6 files did not contain a repayment agreement.
Corrective action. Ensure children's files are complete.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation. A selection of children's files were reviewed. Out of the 6 reviewed, 2 files did not contain information for a medical practioner.
Corrective action. Ensure children's files are complete.
19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (k) the date on which the child stops attending the community care facility.
Observation. A selection of children's files were reviewed. Out of the 6 reviewed, 2 files did not contain the date on which the children stopped attending.
Corrective action. Ensure the last day of care is recorded for children who are no longer attending the facility.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

12090 - CCLR s.19(1)(f) - STAFFING
A licensee must ensure that children have at all times immediate access to an employee who (a) holds a valid first aid and CPR certificate, provided on completion of a course that meets the requirements of Schedule C.
Observation. Licensing observed a staff who works alone with the children has an expired First Aid certificate.
Corrective action. Ensure staff who work alone with the children have a current and valid First Aid and CPR certificate as per Schedule C.
