    A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

    Observation. Licensing observed the following: - Some areas on the wall in the classroom had patches of paint peeling off. - A fence in the outdoor play area was coming off and had nails exposed.

    Corrective action. The identified areas will be repaired by the Manager.

    A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The sign in/out sheet was observed to have 16 children. Upon inspection of the classroom, there were only 12 children present. The staff said that 4 children were out for walk but were not signed out. This was corrected by the Manager.

    Observation. During an inspection of the outdoor play area, the following was observed: - A rusted, large, metal railway spike was on the ground near the sandbox area. - The sandbox is in need of cleaning. - There are broken toys with pointy edges stored in the sandbox. - Broken bikes stored in the sandbox - Wooden planks in the play area are rotting and in need of replacement. - Random toys are found stored in a pocket in the fence.

    Corrective action. The Manager will address the contravention.

    Observation. The fire extinguishers have not been serviced since April 2022. The Manager said that the servicing is usually scheduled by the strata and the servicing is scheduled to be completed for September 2023.
