- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. In the outdoor play area, one corner of a wooden slat at children’s level showed signs of visible wood rot. In two areas, staples used to secure the wood were protruding, creating a potential injury risk.
Corrective action. Licensee will repair the above items and provide photos to Licensing.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Two muffin baking pans used for play in the sandbox showed signs of rust.
Corrective action. Licensee removed them during inspection.

(Educator or assistant certificate validation) Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The Licensees certificate was not validated.
Corrective action. During the inspection the Licensee validated the certificate and showed Licensing the results.

Observation. Upon inspection, Licensing observed that curtains are being used to divide the space between the room and closet. This poses a suffocation and fall hazard. The Manager said she was unaware this could be a hazard and will make it inaccessible to children.
