- HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE
A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.
Observation. Children were observed not to wash hands prior to snack time - further discussed.
Corrective action. Please ensure children follow a health and hygiene program
15030 - CCLR s.46(1) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. Facility does not have emergency supplies for up to 72 hours of care available to respond to an emergency situation. Fire drills have not yet been practiced or recorded - further discussed
Corrective action. Licensee will ask parents to supply emergency supplies for each child and will start to conduct monthly fire drills and document on a template previously provided. Annual drill will also be practiced and recorded in the coming months.
13020 - CCLR s.22(1)(b) - STAFFING
The licensee must not permit a person over the age of 12 to be ordinarily present on the premises of a community care facility while children are present, unless the person is of good character and the licensee has obtained a criminal record check for that person.
Observation. A criminal record check for a person over the age of 12 who is ordinarily present is not available.
Corrective action. Licensee will ensure that the criminal record check is applied for.
