Observation. Upon inspection of the outdoor play area, Licensing observed: -a nail exposed around the gardening area -broken rubber ball, tissues and wrappers -broken plastic storage bin with sharp edges

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (h) any special instruction respecting the child's diet, medication, participation in a program of activities, or other matter relevant to the child's care, (i) given by the child's parent to the licensee in writing.
Observation. Upon review of child records, 5 children with indicated allergies did not have special instructions respecting the children's diet.
Corrective action. The Manager explained that she will follow up with all families and create a care plan for each child with an indicated allergies.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Licensing observed the following: - 1 outlet was missing a cover in Room 7 (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION) - 4 Ceiling tiles in the children's bathroom for room # 8 are missing and a wire hanging down
Corrective action. Please ensure the environment is safe and healthy for children at all times while under the supervision of employees. The tiles above the toilet should be replaced in order to cover the wire.

A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. licensing observed the following: - Washroom used by children in room #8 is out of order - Outdoor sandbox is in poor repair, with rotting wood and nails sticking out
Corrective action. Please ensure that the washroom alotted for the children in room 8 is repaired. Manager stated that the children are sharing stalls with students from the education program. Children need to have access to the toilet that is alotted to them to ensure health and saftey. Please ensure that the sandbox is repaired, replaced, or removed as it poses a healthy and safety risk to children.
