- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation. Licensing observed the following during the inspection: -Diaper cream and a chemical spray were observed in an unlocked cabinet. This was located at the children's level. -A chemical spray was located on the counter in the washroom. This could present a potential hazard. -An open bag of Ice melt was located on the floor at the entrance of the facility. On the bag it read keep out of reach of children. -Loose cords were located in the classroom and in the office that was open. This could present a potential hazard

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. During the inspection Licensing observed the fire extinguisher had an expiry date of Sept 7, 2024. The fire extinguisher is within the area of fully charged.
Corrective action. Please ensure the fire extinguisher is serviced on an annual basis and that the annual service tag is attached documenting that this occurred.

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation. Licensing observed that the last recorded fire drill was back on January 2022. The manager stated that they have been practicing the fire drills monthly and were just not recorded.
Corrective action. Ensure that the monthly fire drill is recorded.
