A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Tower fans are placed on children's chairs in the nap area and pose a tipping hazard.
Corrective action. The fans were placed on the floor during this inspection.

A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Areas behind the children's toilets and underneath the paper towel dispenser are in need of cleaning.
Corrective action. The manager will ensure all areas of the children's bathroom are cleaned.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. A rug in the play room is curling up on one corner and poses a tripping hazard. Brambles are accessible to children in the outdoor play area. There is insufficient bark mulch around the climber in the yard. A minimum of 6" is required around the climber.
Corrective action. The rug was taped down during this inspection. Brambles were removed during this inspection. The manger will inform the Licensing Officer when more bark mulch will be added.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation. Files for 10 children were reviewed. Contact information for a doctor or clinic was not available for two children.
Corrective action. The manger will update the children's files.

A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. During the inspection the following were observed: Toilet seats are stained and the surface is peeling off one toilet seat, a dirty toilet brush and toilet plunger are being stored behind toilets, one toilet continues to run water after it has been flushed, a carpet with curling corners is in the bathroom (the carpet was removed during the inspection).
Corrective action. Please ensure the facility is clean and in good repair.

A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): During this inspection CCFL observed toilet seats in the children's bathroom have yellow stains on them and that areas of wooden equipment are starting to rot.
Corrective action. Please ensure all equipment is in good repair.

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation. A fire drill was conducted in August 2022 but had not been recorded.
Corrective action. Please ensure all fire drill are recorded.

The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation. One care plan had not been reviewed annually with the parent or any person requested to by the parent.
Corrective action. Please ensure that all care plans are reviewed annually.

A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (c) the resources to be made available to the child requiring extra support by the licensee, including (i) any adaptation of the community care facility necessary to ensure the child's safety or comfort.
Observation. Medication required in a child's care plan had passed the expiration date.
Corrective action. Please ensure all medications named in a care plan have a current expiration date.

Observation. One corner of an area rug is fraying. Duct tape that has been used to repair the rug is peeling away.
Corrective action. Please ensure the frayed corner of the rug is repaired.
