- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Edges of three rugs in the play area are curling and pose a tripping hazard.
Corrective action. The senior educator will tape the curling edges of the rugs to the floor.
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation. A care plan for one child had not been reviewed annually with the parent or any person requested to by the parent.
Corrective action. The senior educator will ensure that the care plan is reviewed with the parents and dated.
19260 - CCLR s.58(2)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (c) the resources to be made available to the child requiring extra support by the licensee, including (i) any adaptation of the community care facility necessary to ensure the child's safety or comfort.
Observation. Medication required in two children's care plan has expired.
Corrective action. The senior educator will ensure that medications with a current expiry date are at the facility.

A licensee must replace an absent employee.
Observation. The manager has been away from the facility for more than 30 days and an application to approve a new manager has not been submitted to Licensing.
Corrective action. The senior educator will ensure that an application to approve a new manager is submitted to the Licensing Officer.

A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Throughout the facility paint is chipped exposing drywall and wood on door frames.
Corrective action. The manager will ensure a maintenance plan is in place and chipped paint is repaired.

Corrective action. Please ensure drywall is not accessible to children.

Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The inspection decal on the fire extinguisher expired on July 5, 2022. Fire extinguishers will be serviced this week. During this inspection Licensing observed workers completing full fire safety maintenance.
