  A licensee must ensure that all indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are (b) safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair.

  Observation. Foam on the some bed mats is exposed making the mats difficult to sanitize. A wooden fence post on a climber has rotted away exposing a nail.

  Corrective action. The manager will ensure that foam on the bed mats is not exposed and that children will not access the rotten fence post and exposed nail.

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. Two containers of diaper cream had expired.

  Corrective action. Please ensure all diaper cream containers have a valid expiration date.

  Observation. The following were observed in the children's bathroom: the diaper pad has exposed foam making it difficult to sanitize, a portable fan and the heating vents are in need of cleaning.

  Corrective action. Please ensure all areas of the facility are clean in good repair.

  A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): A bleach bottle was accessible to children in the bathroom.

  Corrective action. The bleach bottle was removed during this inspection.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.

  Observation. A care plan does not include the full course of action recommended by health care professionals for a child requiring additional support and the care plan has not been signed and dated by the family.

  Corrective action. Please ensure the care plan accurately outlines actions to be taken by staff and is signed and dated by the family.

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.

  Observation. Evidence of a criminal record check was not available for one staff.

  Corrective action. Please ensure evidence of a criminal record check is available for all staff.

  Observation. The change table counter top has water damage and is rotting.

  Corrective action. Please ensure the change table counter top is in good repair.

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. The following were observed during this inspection: -A section of broken plexi glass with a sharp edge on the bottom of a toilet stall door in the children's bathroom. -Exposed foam on the change pad making it difficult to sanitize. -Areas of exposed drywall throughout the facility. -A hole in one area of the wall in the nap room.

  Corrective action. Please ensure all areas of the facility are in good repair.

  A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Dish soap was being stored in a cupboard that was accessible to children.

  Corrective action. The dish soap was moved during this inspection.

  A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (a) of sturdy and safe construction, easy to clean and free from hazards. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): there were two nails observed sticking out of the slide structure that presented a potentially hazardous situation

  Corrective action. the nails were removed by staff, no further action is required.
