- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation. The laundry room door was not closed and there is a bottle of detergent left on the floor that is accessible to the children.
Corrective action. Licensee will ensure that the door is closed with a child proof door handle cover.
11200 - CCLR s.17 - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation. The water in the bathroom is over 49 degree Celsius.
Corrective action. Licensee will talk to bulding manager to regulate the temperature. If that didn't work, Licensee will consider purchasing and installing a water temperature control device.
11230 - CCLR s.47 - OR SUPERVISION
A licensee must ensure that children are supervised at all times by a person who is an educator, an assistant or a responsible adult.
Observation. Upon arrival, Licensing observed that the Licensee had left the children with her son who is not a responsible adult.
Corrective action. Licensee will ensure that children are supervised at all times by a responsible adults. If there is any reason that the Licensee need to step outside, she will bring the children with her.
14060 - CCLR s.39(1) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep current records for each child showing (a) the information set out in subsection (2), (b) if applicable, the information and agreements set out in subsections (2.1) and (2.2), and (c) the consents referred to in subsection (3).
Observation. Upon arrival, Licensing observed that there was a 2-month-old child in stroller by the entrance. Licensee explained that she does not have any records of the child other than the contact information of the parents from the older sibling.
Corrective action. Licensee will obtain the child's record to ensure that all children's files are complete.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (b) located so as not to block or hamper an exit in the case of fire or other emergency.
Observation. Licensing observed a large metal dolly partially blocking the upstairs exit to the home.
Corrective action. In discussion the Licensee states that she sometimes sends children upstairs to wash hands and use the washroom. Please ensure the upstairs exit is not blocked or partially blocked to ensure a safe exit in case of an emergency.
11090 - CCLR s.15(1)(b) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation. During the inspection Licensing observed the following: -Access to various sprays and personal products in the washroom at the children's level -A razor was on the counter -Various chemicals in the upstairs washroom located under the sink. A lock was not used.
11200 - CCLR s.17 - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. During the inspection Licensing observed the following: -A bottle of bleach and water or disinfectant was not available for cleaning. -A propane tank and a sharp grill were accessible in the outdoor play area
Corrective action. In discussion the Licensee stated the bottle of bleach and water had broken yesterday and she has not replaced it. Please ensure disinfectants are available at all times for cleaning the facility.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - NUTRITION AND FOOD SERVICES
A licensee must make available to parents information on the food and drink given to children.
Observation. Licensing observed that a menu was not posted in the facility
Corrective action. In discussion with the Licensee she described the foods she gives children for snacks. The Licensee does not have a system to communicate with parents about the food she gives the children.
17120 - CCLR s.48(6) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must display a copy of the fire drill system in a prominent place in the community care facility. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed that a fire drill system was not posted.
Corrective action. The Licensee had the fire drill system in a binder. She has placed this in the front hall and will post this in the facility.
13030 - CCLR s.22(3) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (d) written policies and procedures that are intended to guide employees in the care and supervision of children.
Observation. The policies and procedures were reviewed. A screen use policy was not observed.
Corrective action. The Licensee discussed her verbal screen use policy. Licensing shared a resource and information for creating a screen use policy.
13060 - CCLR s.56(1)(d) - PROGRAM
A licensee must provide to children a comprehensive and coordinated program of indoor and outdoor activities that (c) complies with the program standards set out in Schedule G.
Observation. Licensing observed one bin of toys and a shelf of books in the daycare.
Corrective action. In discussion the Licensee described the activities she gives to children as books and cereal boxes to colour. Ideas for program planning and activities to offer school age children were discussed. Please ensure that children are provided many different activities to fulfill requirements outlined in Schedule G of the Child Care Licensing Regulation.

A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.
Observation. Licensing observed cleaning products in the bathroom within reach of children. These cleaning products were in closed containers, and were placed on the floor beside the toilet. This item was identified and contravened on June 17, 2021 on routine inspection report #MZIN-C43U8L.
Corrective action. Ensure children do not have access to any objects or substances that may be hazardous to their health or safety. During the inspection, the licensee stated that the cleaning product items will be relocated to ensure it is not within reach of children.

Observation. During inspection, it was noted that the monthly fire drills have not been recorded for the months of March, April and May 2022. This item was identified and contravened on June 17, 2021 on routine inspection report #MZIN-C43U8L.
Corrective action. Ensure that the monthly fire drill and annual emergency drill are recorded.

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. During inspection, when Licensing asked where the emergency supplies were located, the manager said that there is currently no emergency supplies in the facility.
Corrective action. Ensure that emergency supplies are available for children in case of an emergency. The emergency supplies should be stored in a container in a designated place in the facility and readily available and accessible at all times.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. During inspection, Licensing asked for the daily attendance record, and the manager said that it is no longer being tracked and recorded.
Corrective action. Daily attendance of children need to be recorded, and indicate for each day whether the child is absent, or if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
