• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (b) the courses of action recommended by health care professionals to address the needs of the child requiring extra support.

  Observation. A child with an indicated allergy noted on registration form, does not have a care plan that includes the course of action recommended by health care professionals.

  Corrective action. The Staff explained that she will follow up with the parent during pickup and a care plan will be developed.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed 5 children's files of which 1 file was missing the phone number of a medical practitioner.

  Corrective action. Please ensure all children's files are complete and up to date.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the licensee using a system established and maintained by the director of the early childhood educator registry,

  Observation. Upon review of the 3 staff files licensing noted one file did not contain any evidence the individual's early childhood educator certificate had been verified.

  Corrective action. The Licensee has a system in place for documenting the verification of individual's early childhood educator certificates however this one file did not contain this information.
