A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (a) of sturdy and safe construction, easy to clean and free from hazards.

Observation. -Several toys in the outdoor play area were covered in rust.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. -Several electrical outlets were missing outlet covers. This is a repeat contravention from a previous inspection. This was corrected during the inspection. -Tools and staff bags were accessible as the office door was open -Hand sanitizer was located at the children's level

The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

Observation. Documentation was not observed to show that care plans were reviewed annually

Corrective action. In discussion staff said the plans were reviewed but were not dated

Observation. During the inspection the following was observed: -Loose cords that could present a potential hazard -Several electrical outlets were missing plug covers on power bars. This could present a potential hazard -Rust was observed on a heater in the washroom. This could present a potential hazard -Access to the office where staff personal bags and cords were visible. -Access to the storage room where a saw in tool kit was visible -A shelf over 4 feet tall was not anchored. Please correct by December 5, 2024 and provide active supervision in the area until this is completed.

A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager.

Observation. Licensing observed that the Manager's name was not displayed

Despite this section, licensee may employ a person as a volunteer who does not provide care to children or supervise children if the licensee or the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following (b) character references in respect of the person.

Observation. A minimum of two character references were not obtained for all parent volunteers .

Observation. Immunization status was not obtained for all parent volunteers.
