- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. Licensing observed the following: -A paint sink was not reasonably clean. This is a repeat contravention from inspection #CLAN-D867KA and #KCHG-CTWMNQ -The baseboards are peeling away from the wall in one section of the classroom -Small marks and paint chips were observed in the wall.
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. During the inspection Licensing observed the following: -Another bottle of disinfectant is required for the washroom as the diapering surface must be cleaned after each use. This will reduce the potential for cross contamination. -A large table was leaning against the fence in the outdoor play area. This could present a falling hazard. Please remove this item prior to using the outdoor play area. -1 electrical outlet cover is missing -The door to the furnace was unlocked -Rust was observed on the fence in the outdoor play area. This could present a potential hazard. Please correct by November 28 and provide active supervision in the area until this is completed.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - LICENSING
A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.
Observation. Two staff are trained ECEA's. The certificates were not posted in the facility
10070 - CCLR s.11(4) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. Licensing observed the attendance records for 5 days in November. Five departure times were missing.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. Licensing observed the following in the outdoor play area: -Two benches and a play kitchen abutted the fence. -One gate did not latch properly. This area led to an outdoor parking lot -Two exposed outlets were observed at the children's level -A rusty item was observed in the outdoor area on the ground. This could cause a potential hazard Licensing observed the following inside the facility: -A trampoline was observed next to the wall. A child was jumping on the trampoline. This may cause a potential hazard. -A TV was not anchored to the wall or TV stand

Observation. The paint sink was observed to not be reasonably clean. This is a repeat contravention from inspection #KCHG-CTWMNQ
Corrective action. In discussion the Manager stated she will use a strong cleaner when the children are not present.
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - NUTRITION AND FOOD SERVICES
A licensee must make available to parents information on the food and drink given to children.
Observation. During the inspection Licensing asked to see the snack menu for children.
Corrective action. In discussion the Manager stated she sends the snack items out in a newsletter to parents but was unable to produce this for licensing to view at the inspection.
17120 - CCLR s.48(6) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child requiring extra support, a current care plan showing the following information: (a) the diagnoses relevant to the child's requirement for extra support, as made by health care professionals.
Observation. Licensing observed there was no care plan available for a child requiring extra support.
Corrective action. Please ensure a care plan is created and reviewed annually.
19210 - CCLR s.58(1)(a) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (b) date of enrolment in the community care facility.
Observation. The children's records were reviewed. Two children were missing the date of enrollment in their records.
19080 - CCLR s.57(2)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation. Two care plans were not reviewed annually with the parent or any person requested to by the parent.
Corrective action. Please ensure care plans are signed and dated by the parents annually

Observation. the paint sink is not reasonable clean the vent covers are in poor repair they are bent rusty and overall in poor repair
Corrective action. please ensure the sink is cleaned and kept reasonable clean, the vent covers need to be replaced or repaired as appropriate

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].
Observation. During inspection, Licensing reviewed the fire drill log and noted that the fire drill was not recorded for the month of April and May 2022. This item is a repeat contravention, which was identified and contravened on Aug. 01, 2019 on routine inspection report #KSEY-BEMUPW.
Corrective action. Ensure emergency drills are recorded as proof that they were conducted.

The following were observed and discussed with manager today: - several areas on the walls within the facility are chipped and cracked with missing wooden mouldings -plastic wall outlet is cracked exposing inner metal piece -carpet has stains on it; also it has started to lift and rip ( wear and tear)
