- LICENSING
A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.
Observation. One qualified staff working in the program at the time of the inspection did not have their certificate posted.
Corrective action. Ensure all qualified staff have their certificates posted.
10070 - CCLR s.11(4) - MEDICATION
If a licensee has agreed with a parent to give a child any medication prescribed by a medical practitioner or provided by the parent, the licensee and his or her employees must ensure that the medication is (a) administered to the child in the amount and at the times specified by the child's parent or in the child's record or care plan.
Observation. A child that might require medication did not have an up-to-date medication permission form available. The Licensing Officer reviewed this requirement at the time of the inspection.
Corrective action. Ensure medical permission forms are completed for children that require them.
16010 - CCLR s.53(1)(a) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. Attendance records at the time of the inspection were not accurate. The Licensing Officer reviewed this requirement at the time of the inspection.
Corrective action. Ensure accurate attendance records are available at all times.
