- RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): For one day in June, the sign-in times for two children were not recorded. The times were recorded during the inspection.
Corrective action. Daily sign-in, sign-out, and absences will be recorded for all children.
19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (i) a photograph or digital image of the child, and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency.
Observation. One child is missing a photo.
Corrective action. The manager will obtain a photo of the child.
19160 - CCLR s.57(2)(i) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation. A criminal record check was not obtained for a volunteer that was present during today's inspection. As per the manager, this individual is doing admin work and is not with the children.
Corrective action. The manager will obtain a criminal record check for the individual and will ensure this individual is not left alone with children.
12040 - CCLR s.19(1)(a) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. (Educator or assistant certificate validation)
Observation. One staff is missing validation of certification, and another staff has a validation on file for the previous certification.
Corrective action. The manager will obtain current certificate validations that will be placed in both staff's file.
12140 - CCLR s.19(4)(a) - STAFFING
A licensee must ensure that each employee (c) practices implementing the emergency plan at least once each year.
Observation. As per the manager, the emergency evacuation drill was not recorded because it was not practiced for 2025.
Corrective action. The manager will ensure the emergency evacuation is practiced and recorded at least once a year.
