  Observation. There is no parental consent to apply diaper cream or sunscreen.

  Corrective action. The manager said she will ask parents to complete medication consent forms.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): An employee lacks her immunization status.

• A licensee must ensure that children are supervised at all times by a person who is an educator, an assistant or a responsible adult.

  Observation. A child wandered a short distance away from the premise for several minutes.

  Corrective action. Licensee provided an acceptable corrective action. No further response is required.

  Observation. Fridge temperature measured 8 degree Celsius.

  Corrective action. Ensure that fridge temperature is between 0-4, to store all children's snack and perishable food safely.

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. Outdoor play space: gate latch is broken, unable to lock. This back door directly leads to the drive way.

  Corrective action. Ensure that all furniture, equipment and fixtures are clean and in good repair.

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person.

  Observation. 3 staff files were reviewed; a minimum of two character references were not obtained for one staff.

  Corrective action. Ensure all staff files are complete.

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry.   Observation. 1 staff's certificate was not validated through the ECE registry.

  Corrective action. Ensure that all staff files are complete.
