- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. The area rug in the JK4 classroom was torn with edges that were curled providing a tripping concern. The licensee removed the rug during the inspection. Two classroom potty seat, and stools were visibly soiled with build up.
Corrective action. The licensee removed the rug and will provide written response to address the stools and potty seats
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that any heated water accessible to children is heated to no more than 49° Celsius.
Observation. Licensing tested the water temperature for all sinks that children have access to, and found one sink temperature to be 53.5 degrees celsuis.
Corrective action. Licensee will ensure staff are provding supervison at the sink until this can be adjusted.
11230 - CCLR s.47 - LICENSING
A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.
Observation. Two educators' certificate had not been posted.
Corrective action. The licensee said they will ensure to post the certificates.
10070 - CCLR s.11(4) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. Children were signed into one classroom but were in attendance in another room in multiple classrooms.
Corrective action. Licensee said they will ensure the children are signed into the classrooms they are attending for the day.
