- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.
Observation. - The indoor climbing structure measures 3 feet 7 inches in height. As per DLSOP Safe Play Space, equipment for children under 36 months must not be more than 3 feet in height (equipment for preschool aged children must be no more than 5 feet in height). The manufacturer’s label on the climbing structure also indicates that this is intended for children 3+ in age. During today’s inspection, there were children under 36 months present that could access this structure. -The shoe storage by the door is not secured to the wall and can easily tip over.
Corrective action. The licensee said she will remove this climbing structure from the program and the shoe storage will be secured to the wall.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (e) written policies and procedures respecting food and drink to be given to children.
Observation. The Nutrition Policy is missing.
Corrective action. The Nutrition Policy will be created and implemented by the licensee.
13070 - CCLR s.56(1)(e) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation. 1 child missing MSP# and immunization status.
Corrective action. The licensee will obtain this information.
19070 - CCLR s.57(2)(a) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. Through February - April 2026, some children's attendances were left blank.
Corrective action. The licensee will ensure children's attendance are accurately recorded daily.
19090 - CCLR s.57(2)(c) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation. 1 child missing doctor name and phone number.
Corrective action. The licensee will obtain this information.
19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must have in writing from a parent, and maintain at the community care facility, consent (a) to call a medical practitioner or ambulance in case of accident or illness if the parent cannot immediately be reached.
Observation. 1 child missing consent to call a medical practitioner or an ambulance if the parent cannot be reached.
