Observation. Inappropriate behavioural guidance was used by staff with children during mealtime.

Corrective action. The manager will submit a written response to Licensing by the date below.

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. 3 fridge temperatures measured 5.2, 7.3, and 9.6 degrees Celsius.

Corrective action. The manager will ensure all fridge temperatures are maintained between 0-4 degrees Celsius.

A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility both the licence, including any terms or conditions of the licence, and the name of the manager. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The manager's name was not posted.

Corrective action. During the inspection, the manager's name was posted.

Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (b) the ratio of employees to children attending a community care facility is no less than that permitted in Schedule E.

Observation. Staff to child ratio was not maintained in one of the under 36 months programs with an IT and ECEA staff working.

Corrective action. The manager will apply for a staff exemption.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (h) any special instruction respecting the child's diet, medication, participation in a program of activities, or other matter relevant to the child's care, (i) given by the child's parent to the licensee in writing.

Observation. 5 children with care plans that do not clearly indicate symptoms and follow-up action/instructions for staff.

Corrective action. The manager will follow up with all families to obtain this information and clearly document this in the care plans.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): For two programs (under 36 months), the children's sign-in times were not recorded. For one of the programs, 2 children's attendances were left blank from Tuesday.

Corrective action. During the inspection, the manager filled in the missing information and will ensure that staff are recording sign-in, sign-out times, and absences.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

Observation. 1 child with a parent listed as an emergency contact.

Corrective action. The manager will obtain an emergency contact from the family that is neither parent or guardian.
