- LICENSING
A licensee must display in a prominent place in the community care facility the certificate, or a copy of the certificate, of any educator or assistant employed to work in the community care facility.
Observation. An ECE staff member's certificate was not displayed.
Corrective action. The licensee said that they will post the certificate.
10070 - CCLR s.11(4) - PROGRAM
A licensee must provide to children a comprehensive and coordinated program of indoor and outdoor activities that (b) is appropriate for the age and development of children in each group in the community care facility.
Observation. Although there are enough appropriate toys and materials for young children aged 0-5, there are not enough materials for older children and they have school-aged children in care.
Corrective action. The licensee said they will provide more resources for the older age group.
18020 - CCLR s.44(1)(b) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Observation. Upon review of several children's records, some are missing the medical insurance plan number and immunization status.
Corrective action. The licensee will review the children's records and acquire the missing information.
19070 - CCLR s.57(2)(a) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation. Upon review of several children's records, some are missing the name and telephone number of the medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Corrective action. The licensee will review the children's records and acquire the missing information.
19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - STAFFING
A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (a) a criminal record check for the person.
Observation. The criminal record check was applied for one staff member and they are awaiting results.
