HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE
A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.
Observation. - A folded blanket covered with ripped plastic was being used as the diaper changing surface. - No single-use towels or paper towels available for children to dry their hands after hand washing.
Corrective action. The Licensee contact stated that a proper mat will be placed on diaper changing surface, and paper towels will be provided.

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. Facility's emergency supplies were insufficient. Food items stored with the supplies were expired.
Corrective action. The Licensee contact stated that supplies will be replenished.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (c) daily attendance record, indicating for each day whether the child is absent or, if the child is present, the time of arrival and departure.
Observation. There were no record of children's attendance for today ( Aug 13); there were 5 children onsite at the time of inspection.
Corrective action. The Licensee contact stated that attendance will be recorded and maintained.

Corrective action. The Licensee contact stated that Manager's certificate will be verified.

A licensee, other than a licensee who provides a care program described as either Preschool (30 Months to School Age) or Group Child Care (School Age), must have in a community care facility a sturdy surface for changing diapers, located outside the food preparation area, next to (a) a covered container for soiled clothing.
Observation. No covered container to dispose diapers in the washroom.
Corrective action. Licensee said that she will buy is this weekend.

Observation. Beach solution not made daily. Staff cleaning diaper change table with diaper wipes.
Corrective action. Staff will make fresh bleach solution daily to clean and sanitize all surfaces.
