  A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child.

  Observation. The following were accessible to children in the washroom; Lysol wipes, toilet bowl cleaner and diaper rash cream.

  Corrective action. Licensee said that she will secure the items out of children reach.

• HYGIENE AND COMMUNICABLE DISEASE

  A licensee must establish a program to instruct children in, and to practise the rules of, health and hygiene.

  Observation. No space between children beddings and it is posing risk of cross contamination of germs.

  Corrective action. Licensee said that she will rearrange the beds to enure the safety of children.

  A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

  Observation. Insufficient supplies and systems needs to be established to evacuate safety with children in the event of emergency.

  Corrective action. Licensee will collect supplies from the families and create systems for evacuation plan.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. The following was observed in the outdoor play space: -Numerous fence boards on the west side of the yard have begun to rot and are no longer secured. There are multiple nails exposed. -Some boards on the shed are beginning to rot and no longer secured. Insulation is exposed. -The slide has cracks in it which could pose a pinching concern.

  Corrective action. Ensure that the facility is in good repair at all times.

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. In the outdoor play space there is a slide that is broken and a shed with unsecured boarding.

  Corrective action. Ensure the outdoor space is in good repair.

  Observation. There is one employee with no file on site.

  Corrective action. Ensure staff files are complete.

  A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

  Observation. Along the west side of the outdoor play space there are numerous prickly weeds accessible to the children in care.

  Corrective action. Ensure a safe and healthy environment is provided at all times.
