  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.

  Observation. The following was observed: -High touch surfaces were visibly dirty -Dust build up was observed in the bathroom -Chipped paint was throughout the facility baseboards and lower walls, accessible to children

  Corrective action. The manager said the cleaning schedule will be reviewed and chipped paint will be covered.

  A licensee must ensure that children do not have access to any object or substance that may be hazardous to the health or safety of a child. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): The following was observed: -An outlet in the nap room was loose, exposing electrical wires within reach of children -Bleach and cleaning chemicals were in an unlocked cabinet, accessible to children -Diaper rash cream was within reach of children

  Corrective action. Staff locked the cabinet with bleach and chemicals and ensured it will be locked while children in care. The staff temporarily fixed the outlet to ensure no exposed wires were within reach of children. The manager confirmed it will be properly secured and monitored to ensure no hazardous materials are within reach of children. Diaper rash cream was moved out of reach of children.

  Observation. Emergency food was unavailable

  Corrective action. The manager confirmed food will be added and sufficient supplies will be accessible in case of an emergency

  Observation. There was no record for the fire drill conducted in July this year.
