  • C1.1 - Does the licensee continually inform licensing of any significant changes to the structure or operation of the facility?Critical

Observation. As a result of the complaint follow-up, staff confirmed that children enrolled in the Group Child Care (Under 36 Months) program are being taken to an off-site play area that has not been reviewed or accepted by Licensing. There is no approved off-site area for Group Child Care (Under 36 Months) program. It is a requirement that a licensee immediately notify Licensing of any changes to information in Schedule B of the Child Care Licensing Regulation before the changes are implemented. This notification allows Licensing to review and assess any potential risks to the health and safety of children and determine whether proposed change is acceptable. Submit by September 21, 2026, a written response indicating how you have corrected this issue and how you will ensure ongoing compliance to the regulation.

  • C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical

Observation. The complaint alleges that children are using playground equipment that is developmentally inappropriate for children under the age of two. Staff confirm that the Group Child Care (Under 36 Months) program were brought to an off-site playground. A review of facility records confirmed that a toddler fell from a climbing structure at the playground. The Director of Licensing Standard of Practice, Safe Play Space, states that the equipment intended for toddlers must not exceed .9 meters (three feet) in height. The use of developmentally inappropriate playground equipment may increase the risk of injury to children. Based on the information received, the allegation is substantiated. Submit by September 21, 2026, a written response indicating how you have corrected this issue and how you will ensure ongoing compliance to the regulation.
