Observation. Licensing measured the wood chips for the red slide . There was one inch of wood chips at the landing of the red slide measuring three feet three inches.
Corrective action. Ensure there is adequate protective surfacing for equipment measuring less than 5 feet.
3000 - SPS DOLSOP (Protective surfacing OVER 45 CM) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information:(i) a photograph or digital image of the child, and other information that can be used to readily identify the child in an emergency
Observation. Licensing audited six children's files. Two children's files did not have a photo of the child.
Corrective action. Ensure a photo of obtained for children's files.
3070 - CCLR 57(2)(i) - A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner (doctor's name and number does not apply to REC only) and emergency contact
Observation. Licensing audited six children's files. Three children's files did not have the name and number of a medical practitioner; two children's files did not have a name and number for an emergency contact.
Corrective action. Ensure the name and number a medical practitioner and an emergency contact is obtained for children's files.
3070 - CCLR 57(2)(d) - A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a valid certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the licensee using a system established and maintained by the director of the early childhood educator registry
Observation. Licensing audited three staff files. One staff file did not their ECE certificate validated.
Corrective action. Ensure ECE certificates are validated by the ECE Registry.
