  • EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. While on site, the following was observed: -As a safety system, while outside, the children wear yellow hats so staff can see where they are located. The hats are disbursed to children prior to outdoor play. Children are given a random hat from the pile. Facility does spray and wash the hats, however, Licensing had concern about the children sharing the hats for hygienic reasons. -Swing within the GCC 3-5 outdoor play space does not appear to have 6 ft clearance from the fence. Additionally, the swing is above a section where there is an elevated perimeter which could also be hazardous if a child falls from the swing.

Corrective action. -Manager stated that they would designate the hats to the children and label them. -Manager will look into what their options may be in regard to the swing. She stated she would remove the swing in the meantime. Please contact Licensing should you come up with a plan for re-installation of the swing. Standard of Active Play provided to the Manager.
