August 19, 2026Routine Inspection4non-critical
- C2.1 - Are written policies and procedures in place to guide employees in all matters regarding the care and supervision of children?Non-critical
Observation. The emergency plan has not been practiced in the past year. Employees who have not practiced implementing the emergency plan pose a risk to children in care in the event of an emergency as they may be unfamiliar with what is required to keep the children safe. A response is required by September 3, 2026 to confirm the plan has been practiced by all employees as required.
- C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical
Observation. Care plans are on file for children that outline restraint as a form of behaviour guidance for each child. The plans do not contain adequate information outlining how the plan will support the child or alternative guidance techniques that are to be used prior to any restraint being used on the child. This is a reoccurring contravention originally found out of compliance on June 18, 2024 and July 7, 2025. A care plan that outlines restraint is required to identify the restraint as a last resort to manage the child's behaviour. A plan that does not have sufficient information may pose a risk to the health, safety and dignity of the child while in care. Submit revised care plans for review by September 1, 2026. All care plans on file do not have corresponding records of compliance with care plan requirements. Information is required to be on file for each care plan that provides evidence plans are being implemented as outlined. The absence of the record may indicate the plan is not being followed and may pose a risk to the health, safety and dignity of the child while in care. A response is required by September 1, 2026 to outline how care plan records will be kept as required.
- C7.1 - Is the facility safe, sanitary, free from hazards, in good repair, and appropriate for the age and development of children?Non-critical
Observation. The end of a cement sidewalk in the outdoor play area is raised and poses a tripping hazard for children. Raised cement poses a risk to any child who is walking or running by that may result in a head or other injury. A response is required by August 27, 2026 to confirm the risk has been mitigated. Two bleach and water cleaning spray bottle solutions are on the kitchen counter within reach of the children. The chemical solution is a hazard and poses a risk of injury to children in care. Corrected during inspection.
- C10.1 - Are children provided with a healthy and safe environment, and protected from harmful actions?Non-critical
Observation. Care plans outlining restraint are on file for five children in care. Information is not identified in all plans of who is trained in the use of, and alternatives to the use of restraints. Information on the training provided to employees regarding the use of restraint is not available for review. The use of restraint to manage a child's behaviour by any person who has not been trained poses a risk to the health, safety and dignity of the child while in care. A response is required by September 1, 2026 to outline the training provided to employees in the use of restraints as well as a review of revised care plans to identify who is responsible for implementing a restraint if required.

- C4.1 - Are facility records current and complete?Non-critical
Observation. Evidence that care plans were developed in consultation with the parent is missing from three children's plans. This is a reoccurring contravention originally found out of compliance on June 18, 2024. Care plans are to be developed in consultation with the parent and any other person as requested by the parent to ensure the health and safety of the child. Submit care plans for review by July 18, 2025. Two care plans on file have not been reviewed in the past year as required. Care plans are to be reviewed with the parent at minimum once each year to ensure the information is accurate and up to date for the health and safety of the child. Provide evidence by July 18, 2025 to confirm the care plans have been reviewed.
