• POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

  A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

  Observation. Fire extinguisher was observed, the Manager advised it was serviced last year, however, no tag showing it was serviced annually.

  Corrective action. The Manager said she will ensure a tag is available to show it is serviced annually, moving forward.

  A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment].

  Observation. No record of emergency drill available for review. Manager said it was practiced but she could not find the record of it.

  Corrective action. The Manager said she will ensure emergency drill record is available, moving forward.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  The licensee must (b) review the care plan at least once each year with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.

  Observation. The care plan was not reviewed annually with the parent or any person requested to by the parent.

  Corrective action. The Manager said she will review with the parent annually, moving forward.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Upon inspection the diapering map had worn out and there was staining with black spots on the end.

  Corrective action. Please ensure the equipment is clear and in good repair.

• EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS

  A licensee must supply equipment, furniture and supplies that are (a) of sturdy and safe construction, easy to clean and free from hazards.

  Observation. Upon inspection there were 2 children's ride on toys that had missing pedals that exposed the metal bar underneath. This poses a hazard to the children in care.

  Corrective action. Please ensure equipment is free from hazards.
