A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees.

Observation. Cots were stored and stacked in one classroom with the bed sheets touching.

Corrective action. Ensure that when cots are not in use, that it is stored in a way that the bed sheets are not touching for the health of children.

A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.

Observation. Licensing observed the following: - Fire extinguishers to be serviced (date on tag: Mar. 25, 2026) - To be replenished with new items: Food supplies in the emergency bag had a date of May 22, 2026

Corrective action. Ensure that the fire extinguishers are serviced, and to place new food items in the emergency bag.

A licensee must keep current records of each of the following: (c) a record respecting compliance with section 22 (2) (b) and (c) [emergency training and equipment]. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Although staff and manager said the drill was completed with children, the fire drill was not logged for the month of August 2026.

Corrective action. Ensure that fire drills are logged monthly.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (a) name, sex, date of birth, medical insurance plan number and immunization status.

Observation. Regarding the children's files for the GCC (30 months to school age) program: - Health number not available on file for one child - Immunization status record missing for two children

Corrective action. Ensure children's files are complete prior to starting care at the facility.

A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

Observation. In the GCC (under 36 months) program: - One child did not have the doctor's phone number on file In the GCC (30 months to school age) program: - One child did not have the doctor or clinic's name and phone number available on file - No emergency contact available for one child

Corrective action. Ensure children's files are complete prior to starting care at the facility.
