Observation. Licensing reviewed six staff files. Four staff were missing verification of ECE Certificate.
Corrective action. Ensure Licensee receives verification from the ECE Registry for any Educator.
3010 - CCLR 19(4)(a) - Despite this section, a licensee may employ a person as a volunteer who does not provide care to children or supervise children if the licensee or the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: character references in respect of the person
Observation. Licensing reviewed one volunteer file that was missing character references.
Corrective action. Ensure licensee obtains character references for any volunteer.

Observation. Licensing observed one child with medication with instructions to give as needed did not have a care plan in place.

3070 - CCLR 58(2)(a) - Log kept of all inspections, maintenance & repairs
Observation. Licensing observed the daily outdoor check log was not completed daily in January, April, June and July 2023. ECE stated that the checks had been completed daily, but not documented.
Corrective action. Ensure a log is kept of all inspections, maintenance and repairs.

Observation. Licensing observed that fire drills were recorded in June and September 2023 only. ECE stated that they had conducted monthly fire drills and an emergency drill but they were not recorded.
