A licensee must ensure that a healthy and safe environment is provided at all times while children are under the supervision of employees. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): A plastic bag holder containing plastic bags were accessible to children
Corrective action. Licensee moved the plastic bags to store them in another area.
11010 - CCLR s.13(1) - EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): Licensing observed the following in the outdoor area: -a gap in the fence in two areas -a nail protruding from one side of the fence -a lattice attached to the fence which was a concern for children climbing over the fence.
Corrective action. This was corrected by the licensee at the time of the inspection
11020 - CCLR s.13(2) - OR SUPERVISION
Without limiting subsection (1), a licensee must ensure that (a) children attending a community care facility are divided into groups, with each group having no more children than that permitted in Schedule E.
Observation. Upon review of the children's records and sign in sheets licensing found there were 3 children between the ages of 2.5 to 3 years attending on at least 2 days last week from 2:30-5:30pm, and all 3 children are enrolled to attend daily.
Corrective action. The licensee said they thought that there could be 3 children from 30m-3 years of age attending the facility and will provide an exemption request to address this.
14020 - CCLR s.34(2)(a) - POLICIES AND PROCEDURES
A licensee must: (b) have an emergency plan that sets out procedures to prepare for, mitigate, respond to and recover from any emergency.
Observation. Fire extinguisher was past the date for servicing.
Corrective action. The licensee said this will be done today.

Corrective action. This was corrected during the inspection.

- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance.
Observation. -Three areas on the walls showed exposed drywall, licensee has a plan to address this on the coming long weekend. -A floor mat had areas where the soft fabric below the vinyl was exposed due to regular wear, and is in need of repair or replacement for easy sanitizing and maintenance. Licensee said she will be removing this mat, and replacing. -An infant swing was removed from the swing set and placed on the ground where the long rope was accessible to children outside, the licensee removed this during the inspection. -Daily outdoor check had been completed by staff however they had not been logged. Staff will be adding a note in the daily attendance forms to log this is completed.
Corrective action. Licensee provided a plan to address all items on or before February 23. 2024

The licensee must (a) develop the care plan in consultation with a parent of the child requiring extra support and any person requested by the parent.
Observation. Licensing reviewed 3 care plans which did not have evidence that they had been developed in consultation with the parent.
Corrective action. Licensee said they will communicate with the parent of all children who require a care plan, and have them sign that they have been consulted with the development of the care plan for the children.
19250 - CCLR s.58(2)(a) - RECORDS AND REPORTING
A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.
Observation. Licensing reviewed 6 children's files, of those 3 files did not contain record of emergency contacts for children.
Corrective action. Licensee will review files obtain emergency contacts by February 9th, 2025
19100 - CCLR s.57(2)(d) - STAFFING
A licensee must ensure that each employee (c) practices implementing the emergency plan at least once each year.
Observation. Emergency evacuation plan had not been implemented since December of 2022. Licensee said they would ensure they create a system and implement this in the month of February.
Corrective action. Licensee has made a plan to practice the emergency this month, with documentation of completion on the fire drill form.
