- EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGS
A licensee must ensure that the community care facility and the furniture, equipment and fixtures within it are clean and in good repair while children are in attendance. Observation (CORRECTED DURING INSPECTION): DLSOP Safe Play Space – Licensee completes daily, monthly, and annual checks of the outdoor play space, however they had not been documented. This was corrected during the inspection.
Corrective action. Licensee will create a checklist and document the outdoor check on the sign in sheet, for daily, monthly and annual inspections of the outdoor play space as per the DOLSOP.

Observation. 8 children's files reviewed. 1 file did not contain the telephone number of the Medical practitioner.
Corrective action. Please ensure to obtain the phone number of the medical practitioner.

A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility as (a) an educator or an assistant unless the person holds a certificate issued under Division 2 [Employee Qualifications], which must be verified by the system maintained by the early childhood educator registry. Observation. Licensee had gone through the process of verifying ECE certification with licensing last year, however a copy of the verification was not placed in the file.
Corrective action. Please ensure to verify all employee Early Childhood Education Certificates, and Assistant Early Childhood Education Certificates.
