  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed 6 children's files. The following was missing: - 4 children's files were missing a dr ph number - 1 file was missing an emergency person record.

  Corrective action. Ensure all files are complete.

• STAFFING

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person.

  Observation. Licensing reviewed 5 staff files and one file and observed that a minimum of two character references were not obtained for one or more employees.

  Corrective action. Manager said that they will add references for the staff file.

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (f) evidence that the person has complied with the Province's immunization and tuberculosis control programs.

  Observation. licensing reviewed 4 staff files and one staff file was missing a record of immunization.

  Corrective action. Ensure all staff files are complete.

• RECORDS AND REPORTING

  A licensee must keep, for each child, a record showing the following information: (d) name and telephone number of a parent, medical practitioner and emergency contact.

  Observation. During inspection 8 children's files were reviewed. Licensing observed the following: - one child's file was missing an emergency person's name - two children's files were missing a doctor's name and phone number. Staff said that children are new comers and were unable to acquire a doctor's name and phone number.

  Corrective action. Ensure all children's files are complete.

  In respect of a record referred to in this Division, a licensee must (c) produce records, on demand, to the medical health officer.

  Observation. During routine inspection it was noted that a substitute teacher was working in the infant room. The manager said that staff substitutes in other programs but the staff did not have a file available to be reviewed. Manager said that staff file might be wiht HR.

  Corrective action. Ensure all staff files are available for review.

  A licensee must not employ a person in a community care facility unless the licensee or, in the case of a person who is not the manager, the manager has first met with the person and obtained all of the following: (b) character references in respect of the person.

  Observation. Upon reviewing the staff files, licensing observed that 3 staff files did not have a record of character reference in respect of the person on file. Manager said that a record of character reference in respect of the person might be with HR department.

  Corrective action. Ensure all staff files are complete.

  Observation. All the files checked did not have a photograph or digital image of the child.

  Corrective action. Ensure that a photograph or digital image is available for each child.
