Preparing Confident Learners for Kindergarten and Beyond
At Stellers Jay Academy, our Imago Program is designed to help children develop the academic, social, and emotional skills they need to succeed in kindergarten and throughout their educational journey.
Our unique curriculum combines play-based learning with age-appropriate academics, creating a balanced environment where children learn through exploration, hands-on experiences, and meaningful teacher-guided activities.
Besides serving as child care centre in our community, Stellers Jay Academy delivers befitting knowledge, education and learning to engage with wide variety of practice professionally in a spirit of respectfulness, locality, and meaningfulness.
We foster children's learning and overall well-being development. The configuration of our developmental objectives aimed to mold the perspectives and pedagogies of childhood in different learning areas. We anticipate the children to contribute to the world of infinite possibilities originated in the success of an open-ended early childhood education.

The facility, the furniture, equipment, fixtures and supplies are of sturdy and safe construction. Â They are easy to clean, and are clean and in good repair and free from hazards. [CCLR Sec. 13(2) and Sec. 15(1)(a)]
Observation. Licensing Officer observed that the facility has addressed several previously identified areas of non-compliance, including painting the walls, replacing area rugs, and installing new canopy tents in the outdoor play space. However, the adult stainless steel soap dispenser located in the children's washroom has not been replaced. The dispenser is showing signs of rust and erosion, which may present hygiene and maintenance concerns. In addition, within the children's play space in one classroom, Licensing Officer observed two area rugs that appeared dirty, soiled, and stained. The area rugs are in need of maintenance.
Medications that staff have agreed to administer are readily accessible to staff and are administered in the correct dosage at the correct times. [CCLR Sec. 53(1)]
Observation. Licensing Officer previously noted that medication for a child with a life-threatening allergy was missing a Request for Administration of Medication form; this issue has now been addressed.

PHYSICAL, EQUIPMENT AND FURNISHINGPlay Area, Materials and EquipmentNon-critical
All indoor and outdoor play materials and equipment accessible to children are suitable for the age and development of the children, safely constructed, free from hazards and in good repair. [CCLR Sec. 16(4)]
Observation. In each of the rooms on this license, there is a shelving unit that is over 4 feet, but not securely attached to the wall. This was discussed with the Manager, but missed on the previous inspection report. It is important to secure equipment, due to the fact that a child may pull on this unit, or try to climb to get a toy from a high shelf, the entire unit could fall on the child and cause major injury. It is also noted that the shelves are not securely attached and could be pulled out and cause harm to children as well.
CARE AND/OR SUPERVISIONGroup Sizes and Employee to Children RatiosNon-critical
Staff ratios and group sizes comply with Schedule E. [CCLR Sec. 34(2)(a)]
Observation. At the end of the day, staff and children go to outdoor space for free play as they wait for parents to pick up. While the playground is age appropriate for all ages of care, there are multiple groups from the facility that are within in the space. It was also noted today that the GCC (less than 36 months) and the GCC (30 m to SA) are both in the space at the same time. As per schedule E, different types of care cannot be grouped together, with the exception of the first and last 30 minutes of each day, as long as there are less than 8 children.

These gaps are large enough for a child to fit through or become logged in. It is also concerning as it could take away from the square footage of the outdoor space if it continues to spread and grow.
